Jason E. Miller
President and CEO
Jason has been working in the technology and web development industry for more than eight years. After working closely with several attorneys, Jason founded Internet LAVA, LLC, in order to help attorneys bridge the generation gap. The results he has obtained for attorneys throughout the country have been impressive.
Jason was asked to speak at the 2010 NORML Legal Seminar in Key West, FL, to criminal defense attorneys across the country about marketing a niche practice. He is scheduled to speak again at the 2011 NORML Legal Seminar in Aspen, CO.
Jason’s duties include: Project Management, Art Direction, Layout Design, and Video Production. Jason was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his spare time, he enjoys drawing, painting, concerts, playing guitar, and playing with his 3-year-old son.
Heather Hanrahan
Director of Legal Publications
Heather knew at an early age she wanted to pursue a career in the legal field, but also desired an occupation that incorporated her passions for writing and editing. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Baylor University. Upon graduation, Heather moved back to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law, where she earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence.
Heather’s position at Internet LAVA allows her to write legal content for attorneys’ web pages, create press releases on topics Internet LAVA’s clients are passionate about, and draft and edit news articles that are currently relevant to the legal community.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, Asa, her Pomeranian, Coco Chanel Bean, and her mixed Maltese, Sir Elton Dog. She also is passionate about all things food-related, from cooking to trying out great cuisine.
Cary Simon
Director of Technology
Cary is a web developer and designer who graduated from The Art Institute of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Web Design and Interactive Media. His intuitive grasp of the underlying concepts and techniques of web development and programming allows him to easily create effective, interactive sites and applications for the web.
Cary’s duties at Internet LAVA include: Website Development, Mobile Application Development, Technical Support, and Database Management.
Aside from staying up-to-date on the latest technology and web development trends, Cary enjoys listening to and playing music, trying new varieties of tea and coffee, and playing video games.
Cynthia James
SEO Manager
Cynthia has a unique perspective on SEO practices. Rather than focus strictly on optimization, she integrates engaging elements that enhance usability. This is in part due to her literary formal education at Emerson College in Boston, MA where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing and Publishing.
As SEO Manager, Cynthia has a deep understanding of the relationship between search engines, websites, and users. She performs off-site optimization for websites, including link building, profile creation, and directory submission.
When she’s not reading SEO and Tech blogs, Cynthia enjoys watching shows like Battlestar Galactica and Stargate. In her spare time she also serves as a mentor for refugee children in Houston. She contributes to several blogs and forums on social justice issues.
